The project involved upgrading of the station to include five new platforms, two entrances, a new link bridge and more retail outlets on the concourse.

Many of the CarmichaelUK personnel supplied to the project worked trackside and as such were subject to working through the Sentinel Scheme to reduce exposure to the risk of fatigue.
