M27 Smart Motorway

Currently work is in progress to create a smart motorway scheme on the M27 between junctions 4 to 11, where the hard shoulder will be turned into a permanent running lane, converting it into a dual four-lane smart motorway. The scheme will also introduce new signage and technology to help with the management of vehicle speeds and safe lane use.
