Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Highways Agent to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure project in Norfolk.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key work packages on a high-profile scheme, working within a collaborative and fast-paced project environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day delivery of highways works on site
- Manage subcontractors and ensure effective subcontract management across all packages
- Lead site teams including engineers and supervisors
- Develop, update, and drive the programme, ensuring works are delivered to schedule
- Monitor progress and performance against key milestones
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Liaise with the client, stakeholders, and internal delivery teams
- Maintain accurate reporting, records, and documentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Agent or Sub Agent on highways projects
- Strong background working with Tier 1 or principal contractors
- Demonstrable experience in subcontract management
- Solid programming experience (e.g. short-term planning, lookaheads, programme updates)
- Good working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and commercial processes
- Strong understanding of highways construction
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
