CarmichaelUK have a requirement for a Site Agent in Cambridgeshire.
An Agent is required to lead a team planning and implementing the project mobilisation. The Agent will work closely with the HSE team and client to develop the site. Primarily the Agent will plan and develop the construction methodologies in collaboration with the supply chain and assist in the development of the Code of Construction Practice. Once mobilised the Agent will take responsibility for delivering a section of work on programme and to budget ensuring Health, Safety, the Environment and Quality are given full regard.

Project:

The project is a £200m scheme forming part of the East Coast Main Line Connectivity programme. The project intent is to  separate a major junction on the ECML by installing a dive under taking freight and local passenger services below the ECML. The main contractor are Network Rail’s delivery partner for GRIP 4-6 Civils and OLE works incorporating piled retaining walls, bored tunnels, steel structures and a box jack. The project is due on site in Summer 2018 with the programme lasting until 2021.

 Key knowledge & Experience required:

  • Experience of major heavy civil engineering projects including piling, earthworks and reinforced concrete works
  • Professional / educational back ground in civil engineering
  • Experience of working in and around a rail environment

We are looking for Site Agents who will be responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. The ideal applicant will have previous Rail & heavy Civils experience. 

Responsibilities: 

As a Site Agent you will:

  • Ensure accurate implementation of all engineering controls and compliance with the contract drawings and specification
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works
  • Ensure work is executed in a safe manner meeting legal guidelines set out in health safety and requirements and environmental compliance
  • Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
  • Manage resources to ensure work is completed to site goals and systems requirements
  • Programme works, ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of the resources’
  • Implement and monitor health and safety, quality and environment requirements and standards
