Carmichael UK are looking for a Highways Agent – Pre-Construction on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor.

Construction works are scheduled to proceed in 2023 and the project is currently delivering early site survey works and detailed design. Reporting to the Highways Senior Agent, providing construction input into the detailed design and preparation of contract documents ahead of construction.
Key Roles and Responsibilities will include:

Working with the Highways Senior Agent as well as the Design Teams to develop the detailed design and identify opportunities for construction.

Review design deliverables.
-
Working with the supply chain to ensure that modern methods of construction are identified and embedded in our detailed design and construction delivery plans.

Develop and author construction delivery plans and products.
-
Developing and reviewing safe systems of works to support the construction delivery plan.
-
Developing temporary works solutions and integrating the temporary works methods into the design and construction delivery plans.

Development and management of robust working practices to support the design and construction teams to deliver a safe, efficient and production focused design
About you:

Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng).

Minimum 7 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects including.

Knowledge and experience of Highways Construction
-
Good written and oral communication skills.

The ability to manage and control tasks
-
Experience in some or all of the following:
-
Complex Traffic Management
-
Work in environmentally sensitive sites.

Working within logistically constrained areas – such as Smart Motorway or Online widening environments
-
Knowledge and understanding of temporary works
-
Knowledge and understanding of a good range of highways disciplines including – earthworks, drainage and pavement.

Willing to attend the team’s project office in Central London with occasional visits to Client, Designer, and site offices.
