Architectural Co-ordinator

Purpose of the job

  • Support the Architectural Technical Lead in all duties of reviewing, developing, coordinating, self-certifying, and assuring the design
  • Support the Accountable Person (Architectural Technical Lead) in self-certifying the construction
  • Site support – assist the Architectural Technical Lead to be the first point of contact between the Construction Team and the DMO and Wilkinson Eyre
  • Support the Construction and the Procurement teams in developing and implementing a finishes procurement strategy, logistics routes and coordinated programme between MEP and Premises suppliers

Accountabilities / Key responsibilities

Assisting the Architectural Technical Lead with:

  • Confirming that all design deliverables including drawings and supporting documentation have been integrated and assured in accordance with the design organisations accepted processes 
  • Confirming and agreeing (verifying) the  design package breakdown;
  • Confirming that CDS’s and Compliance Submissions have been assured through agreed processes;
  • The review and report on proposed materials, trials, samples and benchmarks;
  • Maintain an updated register of IFC information
  • Provision of technical support and advice concerning agreed technical aspects and proposal of designs and of construction site activities
  • Review, comment, provide input and acceptance on proposals from the Construction Team and procured Subcontractors – checking compatibility with the permanent works design intent. This includes but is not limited to reviewing technical submissions containing Material Approval Requests (MARs), Request for Information (RFIs), Field Design Change Requests (FDCR), Non Conformance Records (NCR), ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), shop/fabrication drawings, samples and benchmarks, remedial works.

Experience, knowledge, qualifications & training

  • Educated to degree or higher level in a discipline typically Architecture, Engineering or Construction 
  • Holding good knowledge of British Standards and Building Regulations 
  • Highly experienced in architectural finishes 
  • You have worked on railway and/or London Underground projects 
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal), as well as good organisational skills
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 – Highly advantageous
