Our client a major civil engineering contractor is working in partnership with Peterborough City Council, they require an Assistant Engineer to support the highways engineering design team based from their Peterborough office. Reporting to a Team Leader, you will play an important role in the delivery of highway schemes from the design of junction improvements, cycleways, traffic calming schemes and Third Party Development Schemes.
You will:
- Assist highway Engineers with design of major and minor Civil Engineering schemes to a high quality standard.
- Creation of detailed highway design elements following the DMRB including: alignments, drainage, earthworks, pavements and signs.
- Preparation of specifications, bills of quantities, site and works information.
- Preparation of technical reports.
- Site surveys and other site monitoring activities.
They’re looking for:
- Minimum HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
- Fully conversant with AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Civils 3D and/or Bentley MXRoads, WinDES Microdrainage and KeySoft software.
- Ability to manage your own projects with minimal senior design supervision requirement
- Knowledge of relevant HA standards and/or local authority procedures.
