A widely recognised civil engineering contractor who have been in operation for close to 60 years are searching to add an Assistant Project Manager to their team on a permanent basis.
They work within several sectors but are looking to add the Assistant Project Manager to their Civil Engineering team which will see you involved in overseeing 278 and section 38 works throughout Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridge (east).
You'll be working alongside an experienced Project Manager who will support you and give you all the tools necessary in order to become a competent Project Manager capable of running your own projects in the near future.
This is a genuine opportunity for somebody that is looking to make the move into project management within a reputable business where they have a strong level of staff retention.
Some of your duties will include:
- Ensure all business operations are executed in a safe manner within current health and safety legislation
- Managing all site based personnel within the contract
- Have a working knowledge of NEC 3 and JCT contracts
- Effectively manage director labour and sub-contractors
- Maintaining plant hire and material ordering
- Take responsibility for the success, quality and delivery of all contracts in your control
- Providing accurate management information to contracts manager or project quantity surveyor as requred
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years' experience within construction, 5 of which being within a supervisory role
- HNC/Degree within civil engineering if less than 10 years' experience
- SMSTS
- CSCS Managers card
- Drivers license and able to commute to Hampshire and west Oxfordshire when required
