A main joint venture on a major infrastructure project in Buckinghamshire, is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager.
This is a contract PAYE position.
Description of Activities to be undertaken
- Delivery of ecology mitigation package.
- Co-ordination of Fusion staff within the teams that contribute to the package.
- Weekly and monthly reporting including commercial actuals & forecast, and programme.
- Coordination of design and procurement.
- Assurance and handover to client.
- Manage interfaces with other packages and third parties.
- Support Senior Project Engineers with subcontractor management - all aspects.
- Drive package delivery to achieve programme.
- Weekly meetings: internal, client, supply chain.
- Capture change and ensure records are kept for recovery of costs.
- Liaise with client and maintain good working relationships.
Desirable experience/skills/qualities
- Experience in using/interpreting specifications and works information
- Knowledge of NEC contract mechanisms (EWNs, CEs etc)
- Experience writing and reviewing SSOW/RAMS
- Experience in use of ITPs
- Experience writing and reviewing NCRs and TQs
- Experience in programming works and/or managing Subcontractor programme submissions
- Experience in weekly/monthly reporting & commercial forecast
- Previous personal responsibility for directing and managing Subcontractors
- Experience in chairing Subcontractor and Client meetings
- Attention to detail
- Good at learning to use new software packages
- Experience in managing Pre-Construction period useful e.g. Construction Phase Plan, Quality Plan, Consents, U&As
- Willingness to take on a Contractor's Management Organisation (CMO)-type role (as opposed to managing direct works)
- Travel to site as required
- Experience in managing sub agents/section/site/assistant/apprentice engineers
