Carmichael UK are looking for an Assistant Project Manager for a major water project across Surrey and Kent
 
Location: Kent
Project: Water
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 8 Months (with potential to extend)
Pay Type: PAYE / Umbrella /  LTD
Day Rate: £375 per day
 
  • Scope of works
    ·        Undertake and discharge roles and responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager : To include .
    ·        Ensure all activities are appropriately and managed to ensure safe operations .
    ·        Supervise, train and mentor the site team to enable them to optimise their work contribution.
    ·        Prepare presentations to provide reporting and updates to the Client and the Senior Leadership Team
    ·        Attend progress meetings with the Client and Contractors to manage the works and progress.
    ·        Review contractual agreements and develop working methods, RAMS, and programme
    ·        Develop programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, taking action where appropriate, and reporting any changes to the Project  Manager and Commercial department.
    ·        Provide input to the programme to ensure the appropriate specialists provide the level of resources with the necessary skills so as not to impede the construction programme.
    ·        Communicate with the site team and the commercial team’s issues of non-conformances and contractual correspondence. Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
    ·        Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works are reviewed, approved and adhered to.
    ·        Supervising responsibility for site teams; liaison with internal and external stakeholders
    Person specification
    ·        Degree level qualification or equivalent  in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
    ·        Understanding of Engineering Principles
    ·        Knowledge and Understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
    ·        Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
    ·        Relevant CSCS Card
    ·        Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
    Desirable:
    ·        Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent HND/ HNC
    ·        MICE
    ·        MAPM
    ·        Vocational Training (successful experience of project management)
