This is a great opportunity for a Senior BIM Technician seeking a more managerial position, or an experienced BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator to develop their career within the growing, fast-paced and dynamic Geospatial sector.

The role will appeal to senior BIM personnel who enjoy a balanced mix of departmental and project management, collaboration with clients, and hands-on technical BIM modelling workflows. The role will involve working on some of the largest and high-profile redevelopments in the country and requires a forward-thinking, consultative, and innovative individual who seeks to apply the latest software’s and workflows to our modelling processes.

Note the role is temporarily remote but long-term will be based at the Central London office with flexible working possible.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the company’s in-house BIM team and overseeing of all projects allocated to the department, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Provide training, guidance, mentoring and motivation to the team in exercising their roles and responsibilities and continuing professional development
  • Maintain client relationships by communicating, updating, and managing client expectations from project initiation through to final delivery
  • Assisting Heads of Department with project tenders and proposals
  • Audit preparation and maintaining of BSI ISO 19650 Kitemark certification
  • Monthly and yearly financial tracking and compare monthly target budgets and resource availability
  • Identify potential growth opportunities and target clients for the team and assist with the growth of the dept workload
  • Maintain regular communications with the BIM team to ensure project plans are progressing to schedule and problems are being resolved
  • Develop a panel of suitable sub-contractors in line with business and departmental strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and maintain a sales pipeline in line with company’s Key Account Strategy
  • Responsibility for research and innovation on BIM-related workflows including new software’s and equipment
  • Represent and promote the Murphy Geospatial brand at client meetings and relevant conferences, networking or educational events
  • Conduct presentations through various mediums to promote the company’s BIM offering both internally within the company and externally to clients when required.
  • Support and feedback to the Head of Department in any dispute management as BIM projects evolve, ensuring any learnings are implemented
  • Support HR processes within the department around recruitment, performance management, appraisals, renumeration agreements and employee relations etc.
  • Facilitate business growth by working together with clients as well as business partners (suppliers, subcontractors, JV partners, technology providers, etc.)
  • Provide input and support to other company departments in implementing BIM workflows that will benefit the Company
  • Ensure accuracy of all information that is reported on the project management system

Key Requirements

  • BIM Management Certification and/or minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Fundamental understanding of the principles and practices of ‘Survey-to-BIM’ and all relevant industry-standards such as PAS1192, ISO19650, NBS Toolkit etc…
  • Advanced technical competency with Autodesk Revit
  • Collaborative and consultative approach to BIM workflows and projects
  • Experience with the Autodesk suite of software; specifically Revit, Navisworks and BIM360
  • Preferable competency with any of the following; ArchiCAD, AECOSIM, Unity, Solibri and others
  • Experience of initial BIM model setups and comprehensive understanding of model coordination and federation
  • Experience of team management and project management in a BIM-related context
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels including clients, management, team members and subcontractors
  • Problem solving on a technical and departmental level
  • Strong report writing, communication, presentation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with a strong attention to detail
  • Have a forward-thinking and positive attitude and enjoy exploring new innovative solutions, software’s and BIM related workflows
