We are currently recruiting a Business Development and Account Executive to join Murphy Geospatial UK for their North West region based from our client's Manchester office.


Role Objectives:

Generate Sales for the North West region:

  • Account Management. Leverage their existing Accounts to grow and embed long term relationships to offer and secure repeat business
  • Enquiry response and offer development. Murphy Geospatial have a strong brand with marketing activity generating enquiries that require qualification through to offer and quotation.
  • Develop Strategic prospects. Identify, initiate and pursue opportunities to present their value proposition to target customers they perceive as of long term strategic potential.

Support our client's National Programme of Key Account Management with other Sales colleagues

Collaborate with other Sales and business managers to reciprocate opportunity development for both North West region and nationally.

Contribute to Marketing effort and promote the company when in attendance at meetings, corporate events, conferences, and trade shows.

Their Manchester business is a microcosm of their national business and over time they are expanding service and product offerings from and with the support of their national offer. Of particular focus is our client's desire to grow in the Construction sector where candidates with experience of selling technical services or consultancy are well versed in the procurement and sales cultures of these target client types. Whilst knowledge of specific Geospatial and Land Surveying techniques would be an advantage, we are similarly interested in candidates from other industries.

 

Role activities:

The principal Salesperson for Murphy Geospatial Manchester region working closely with and reporting to the Manchester Head of Department.

Be proactive to win business to achieve monthly and annual sales/BD targets and KPI’s set.

Produce and deliver new business proposals and including accurate estimation and project costing with the support of operational colleagues.

Report weekly on all sales activities and identify business growth opportunities and innovation that can be used to provide the company with a competitive edge.

Provide budget estimates that allow for sufficient detail, timings and costings. Effectively identify or inherent risks within the proposed surveys. Record sales opportunities, feedback, and sales and Business development related activities within our client's CRM software to facilitate accurate reporting and forecasts to be realised.  This includes recording of all meetings calls and emails related to opportunities. Provide content to support marketing activities through digital marketing and corporate literature.

Provide presentations through various mediums to promote the business to clients when required.

Provide detailed handovers for projects won and provide suggestions for improvement for any lost bids or proposals

Regularly review estimating procedures and proactively develop strategies to deliver increased sales

Maintain and record all details of continuous professional development activities

Conduct oneself with integrity and honesty at all times and report any occurrence which may cause the company to incur increased risk, come into disrepute or result in a loss of reputation for the business.

Support the Murphy Geospatial Key Account Strategy and work towards all targets and KPI’s set for your accounts

Support the management team by defining target markets, key targets and commercial product strategy

Learn and continuously develop knowledge of existing and new services


Requirements

Sales, Account Management or Business Development experience within the sectors of: Property, Design/Construction, Civil Engineering, Asset Management and Maintenance.

Experience of communicating value add of complex services and/or products or Consulting services and leading sales propositions and tenders through all stages from enquiry initiation through to winning orders and growing relationships for repeat business.

A working knowledge of surveying equipment, laser scanning and BIM techniques and solutions would be advantageous. Alternatively, a demonstrable ability to learn technical concepts and communicate through service led offers with customers.

Commercial experience and knowledge of construction contracts (NEC, JCT) would also be advantageous.
