Are you a Civil Engineer with delivery experience who’s recently moved into estimating? Or a Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record in civil engineering tenders? If you understand how rates are built and want to shape winning bids, then this is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking team.
We’re looking for a Civil Estimator to support pre-construction activities across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and civil engineering projects. You’ll work closely with technical, operational, and commercial teams to produce competitive and accurate tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess incoming tender documentation including specifications, drawings, surveys, and contract terms.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions in collaboration with operational, technical, and commercial teams.
- Engage with clients, consultants, supply chain partners, and internal teams to clarify project requirements and gather necessary information.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and propose innovative solutions to enhance competitiveness.
- Undertake site visits and attend pre-tender meetings where required.
- Maintain strong awareness of market rates, subcontractor pricing, and industry trends.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, systems, and internal processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Background in civil engineering delivery or quantity surveying with estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of construction rates, cost build-ups, and commercial principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and analytical mindset.
