Our client, a tier-one contractor is looking for a freelance Commercial Manager to work on a project comprising of three West London Station upgrades for 12 months. Work has recently re-started following a Covid-19 related temporary shutdown with additional safety measures in place.
The scope of works include:
- New or modified station buildings
- New footbridges
- New lifts
- Upgraded electrical supplies and wiring
- Upgraded mechanical systems
- Upgraded revenue collection
Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role
- A good track record of project delivery with tier 1 contractors (REQUIRED)
- Prior experience managing a team of QS's (REQUIRED)
- Prior experience working as a Commercial Manager on a rail project (REQUIRED)
- Experience working with or liaising with Network Rail (REQUIRED)
- Civil or Mechanical Engineering background
- Knowledge of NEC3 Option C form of contract (REQUIRED)
- Membership to a recognised professional institution (Favourable)
- Strong Commercial background
- Ability to solicit views across multiple parties, lead discussions and manage interdependencies
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with colleagues whose work will be impacted by your activities
