An excellent, inside IR 35, freelance opportunity exist for Commissioning Engineers with solid water treatment and wastewater treatment plant experience.

 

Responsibilities and requirements

  • Managing all commissioning activities ensuring work is undertaken safely in accordance with Company Procedures, specifications, and good working practices
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all commissioning activities from design through to scheme final completion
  • Reporting commissioning/process/closeout activities and progress to the Area MEICA Manager
  • Monitoring testing & commissioning budget
  • Carry out Commissioning Engineers R&R’s and deliver schemes in a safe compliant manner
  • Review and monitoring of MEICA related Project risks
  • Review and monitoring of Services
  • Attend commissioning systems inductions and toolbox talks
  • Liaise with Design Coordinator to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at design stage and included in appropriate scope of works
  • Review of design deliverables, including FDS, equipment and instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy and telemetry requirements
  • Review and development of Compliance & Commissioning Plans in conjunction with design intent
  • Oversee and sign off FAT and SAT, and process witness tests
  • Assist in development of initial Commissioning Programme
  • Attend Progress & Commissioning Meetings
  • Compile commissioning documentation and deliverables
  • Provide input into Commissioning Strategy Reviews and Documentation.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors regards commissioning deliverables and interfaces.
  • Assist Training Coordinators in compilation of training deliverables and engage in SW Training sessions
  • Assist O&M Coordinators in compilation and review of O&M Manuals.

 

Requirements for this opportunity include –

  • Experience of commissioning in the utilities sector (preferably water)
  • Experience of installation & commissioning of both electrical and mechanical assets
  • Experience of working to electrical procedures, including providing electrical permit to works
  • CSCS card
  • SSSTS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK Driving license
