CarmichaelUK are seeking an experienced Civil / Utilities Design Engineer for work on a major infrastructure project in North Greenwich.
The successful candidate will need to be proficient in all aspects of civil engineering / utilities design and ideally have Tier 1 main contractor experience.
- Assisting in the development of conceptual and detailed design and producing engineering details in accordance with project requirements
- Site visits and attending client meetings
- Prepare and check calculations and reporting
- Establish and promote best practice in health, safety, quality, sustainability and environmental matters in conjunction with the HSE department.
- Ability to collect all required information and communicate with interfacing parties.
- A good understanding of engineering geology, ground risk management, excavation/ trenching and utilities, considering constructability and other relevant aspects (e.g. environmental issues, cost and programme).
- Facilitate technical reports, presenting design results to a wider audience or discussing relevant decisions with the client’s specialists.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good knowledge of relevant British and EU standards and codes
- Sound analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current design standards
- The ability to communicate and liaise effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors
Essential Qualifications:
A Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
**Chartered Engineer or close to obtaining chartership highly desirable
