Specialist Contractor seeks to employ a freelance proficient Design Manager for a project in Glasgow. Previous experience in the refurbishment of structural steel projects is sought after however Engineers with exceptional knowledge of large structural steel projects will be seriously considered.
Duties will include -
- Manage the flow of information between the Consulting Engineers and the Project Management team.
- Set and chair design meetings.
- Managed the scope, budget and relevant contract documentation.
- Ensure a cost effective solution based on the best engineering principles within an agreed time frame
- Comment and advise based on previous experience and knowledge.
Requirements –
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
- Extensive experience and knowledge on structural steel projects like bridges
- Proven ability to interpret designs and specifications and convert to the construction process.
- Extensive knowledge of BS 1090, NHSS 19A and ISO3834
- Member of BCSA, ICORR or CECA advantageous
- Effective planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Capability to work at a fast pace and to tight deadlines.
- A collaborative leadership style.
