Large multidisciplinary Tier one contractor seeks to employ an experience Design Manager to manage the flow of technical information and to formulate design solutions including the costs throughout the life cycle of medium to large projects. Reporting to the Bid Manager you duties will include -
- Manage the flow of information between the various Designers/Consulting Engineers and the project management team.
- Set and chair design meetings throughout the project
- Manage the scope, budget and relevant contract documentation
- Ensure a cost effective design to the best engineering principles available and within an agreed time frame
Requirements for this post include –
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, AutoCAD and BIM
- Experience in a similar role on a large civil engineering project (rail, highways, airports, etc) in the UK advantageous
- Proven ability to interpret designs and specifications and convert to constructability
- Experience on reinforced concrete structures, infrastructure and runways.
- Effective planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Capability to work at a fast pace and to tight deadlines
- A collaborative leadership style
- Have a UK drivers licence and the right to work in the UK
