Design Manger – Heavy Civils
My principle contractor client within the civil engineering industry requires a Design Manager to help deliver their expanding London Project portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Head of Design, the Design Manager will have a dual site and office based role.
You will be responsible for
- Managing the design interface between the contractor and consultant
- Coordination of design deliverables
- Checking buildability on site
- Checking of documentation and managing issued documentation
- Managing design database
- Providing the crucial link between designers and site operational staff
- Working alongside delivery team to mobilise contract
- Working with the Supply Chain to ensure levels of service in terms of quality and safe working practices are maintained to a high level and compliant with standards/legislation.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Knowledge of design delivery process and procedures gained through successful experience of design and design management for heavy civil projects
- At least 5 years experience at top tier contractors as a Design Manager
- Knowledge of appropriate design standards and procedures.
- Proven experience managing design consultants.
- Relevant degree or diploma.
- Membership of an appropriate Institution (ICE, IStructE, etc.).
