An exciting opportunity has come up for an Ecologist to work for the A14 project which is a major roads improvement project. This contract will be up to 18 month duration. It’s a great opportunity to be involved in the largest roads project in the UK at the moment.
Description of Activities to be undertaken:
To provide ecological support to Lead Ecologist and have responsibilities under the following work packages: Area Wide Environmental.
Creation of mitigation methodologies for various protected species including Badger, Bat, GCN trapping and Barn Owl.
Coordinate ecological mitigation and completion of licence applications.
Oversee and co-ordinate the implementation of mitigation programs.
Manage and co-ordinate survey data and liaise with Area Wide Survey team.
Ecological support to general/other Work Packages
To fulfil the role of Ecological support and provide assurance and ensure compliance with relevant Technical Standards.
Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role
Essential:
Ecologist with experience of working on a large scale construction project
Experience of implementing ecological mitigation and preparation of licence applications.
Chartered or member of relevant ecological/environmental institute.
Experience in the planning process and dealing with local authorities
