CarmichaelUK are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join one of the UK’s busiest and most critical road transport assets. This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-demand 24/7 operation involving tunnel and bridge maintenance across the Thames.
About the Role:
You will be working on the ventilation, pump rooms, and electrical systems for Tunnels and Bridges. The role is shift-based with a 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off rotation (12-hour shifts: 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am).
Key Responsibilities:

Electrical maintenance of large pumps, motors, ventilation systems

Fault finding using schematic drawings

Work on HV systems (preferably 11kV and above)

Maintenance of generators and switchgear

Electrical installation to current legislation

Comply with and promote H&S standards on site
What We’re Looking For:
- Industrial or commercial background essential
- HV experience (11kV+) highly desirable
- Experience in generators, switchgear, and fault diagnostics
- Strong grounding in electrical maintenance
- Familiarity with Wiring Regs (18th Edition) – can be completed with client if candidate has strong fundamentals
- Background in power stations or rail would be highly beneficial
