I am on the lookout for a Chartered Engineering Manager for a main contractor in London.

The role dictates that you will be working on major rail projects in the capital and as such you will ideally have a very thorough understanding of TfL and London Underground policies and procedures.

As the Chartered Engineering Manager you will head up the engineering function and work very closely with the design and delivery teams interacting on a regular basis with the Project Managers and Design Managers. Part of this role will necessitate familiarity with SEMP, DMP and SRS.

Key duties of the Chartered Engineering Manager:

  • Endure the project delivery teams utilise the clients processes and procedures
  • Be a technical resource and input source for the Project Managers and Design Managers
  • Review and develop design procedures to be used internally for temporary works and design submissions. The Chartered Engineering manager will also work with the Head of Technical Services to create company procedures for future London Underground projects
  • The Chartered Engineering Manager with review and develop engineering templates for TfL and London underground projects for short notice changes, design submissions, SEMP, CPP and SRS.
  •  You will promote the company to all clients, designers and other external entities.
  • Work alongside the Rail Director and Technical Leads to develop engineering training across the rail sector.
  • Add value during the procurement, delivery and construction phases.
  • Undertake Engineering and Design audits.

This is a very exciting role with a tier 1 client. The role is such that Chartership is an essential requirement as is prior experience in the London rail sector, ideally for a main contractor.
