Our client requires an Engineering Project Manager to join their ever growing team based in Bristol.
As Engineering Project Manager, you will manage the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering projects across the airport infrastructure. Projects are varied and could include: HV/LV distribution systems, fire alarm systems, baggage handling systems, emergency lighting, building management systems and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. As Engineering Project Manager, you will:
  • Schedule, control, plan and carry out multidiscipline capital projects on Electrical and Mechanical services

  • Manage the whole life costs throughout various projects and continuously review and evaluate the business asset management model

  • Assess the operational impact and risk of projects through the implementation phase and liaise with all stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to airport operations

  • Through a process of continuous development, assessment, training and development establish a comprehensive understanding of the airport layout, functions and assets

  • Actively select, manage and monitor activities in order drive continuous improvement across all contractors and suppliers. Continual review and validate the best results and outcomes are achieved through our contractors and suppliers

  • Project manage maintenance tasks, refurbishments and capital projects as directed by the MEP Manager

  • Review, assess and validate work carried out by subcontractors and actively address all compliance and quality issues. When improvements are required, oversee all remedial works

  • Mitigate risk and safeguard compliance by evaluating risk assessments and method statements developed by contractors for project work activities and carryout on task monitoring

  • Maintain and keep detailed records of project activities and ensure the Engineering team are fully aware of work progress and any additional equipment being installed

Requirements:

They would like you to have a generous amount of experience successfully delivering complex M&E projects, from concept to handover. Typical projects might include lift refurbishments, energy saving projects, airfield lighting upgrades and substation improvements – and so you’d benefit from having a broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems and technical knowledge in electrical HV and LV infrastructure.

Excellent attention to detail, great communications skills and a customer focused approach are essential for this role.
