Carmichael are seeking an Environmental Design Coordinator to join the team based in Buckinghamshire.

We need you to assist in the delivery of environmental design and to engage with construction delivery colleagues and subject matter experts for the delivery of design packages and assist in the management of design changes.  Close liaison with the D&E Section Lead is required to deliver on time, and in accordance with the Employer’s requirements.  This is a key role to enable delivery of the whole project and will involve occasional coordination meetings with technical approval authorities, regular reporting and updates on progress.  Liaison with the commercial teams will also be required to help administer the contract with the designer and with the Employer.  An understanding of the NEC3 suite of contracts would be advantageous.

You will need to assist in coordination with the Design team, the Construction team and Subject Matter Experts for management of topics such Water Resources and Flood Risk, Protected Species, Noise and Vibration, Cultural Heritage, Materials Management and Control of Pollution and environmental consenting.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A good communicator and able to build positive working relationships, internally and with the supply chain
  • Attention to detail and driven to succeed
  • A willingness to intervene and “own” issues to gain a swift resolution
  • Ability to coordinate and manage own workload supporting project delivery
  • Civil Engineering or Environmental degree from a UK institution
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communications skills & interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Understanding of Project Management principles essential
  • Knowledge of a consenting process advantageous
  • Ability and knowledge of Esri ArcGIS systems advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence required
