A long-term opportunity exists for a career civils Estimating Manager experienced in estimating rail projects that include the refurbishment and extension of platforms, laying of new track, drainage, improving and upgrading of over and underpasses, demolishing and constructing bridges, improving embankments etc.
The Estimating Managers duties will include –
- Managing a team of Estimators working on numerous projects simultaneously
- Interaction/collaboration with in-house Project Managers, the client and JV partners
- Ensuring estimates provide a least cost and optimum value solution.
- Determine the scope of works to produce accurate and realistic estimates.
- Produce contract cost codes, targets and construction breakdown structures.
- Assist in the programming of the estimated work packages.
Requirements for this opportunity include –
- A career Estimator with experience within the rail sector
- A Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying qualification
- Exposure to large complex civil engineering rail projects for the likes of Network Rail
- A good understanding of the Network Rail GRIP system
- Strong negotiation and management skills
- Excellent IT skills
