Position: Full Stack & Mobile Application Developer - Construction
Based: Stratford, East London
Salary: £65,000

The Position:
Carmichael UK specialises in Construction personnel recruitment for Civils, Building, Road and Rail projects within the UK and currently have the below internal vacancy. This is a new role to the company and successful candidate will be leading company’s software packages development.
You will have full responsibility to create and maintain software that is compatible with existing software packages and databases. You will be developing modules to support existing packages and stand alone software for commercial and construction applications to be used internally and externally to support sales, back office, financial and compliance processes, construction site management, site safety and quality inspections, shift reporting, resource allocation, cost analysis an trend analysis. You will also be developing 3D animations and applications to provide training on construction sites.
The successful applicant will have held senior positions in construction management, web development and mobile application development and is required to have significant demonstrable skills in these areas.
In terms of skills, qualifications and experience - the successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years of software development including experience
- 5+ years of construction project management & engineering experience for Tier 1 Contractors
- Strong experience with Android studio, Visual Studio, Blender, Unity, and performance profiling tools
- Strong experience in PWA and AMP development
- Strong experience with MEAN, MERN and custom stacks.
- Strong experience in with pre/post processors and transpilers.
- Strong experience implementing multiple authentication and authorisation protocols
- Strong experience mobile software development in Java
- Strong experience in Blender 3D Modelling
- Strong experience in VR Development
- Strong experience in analysis and development of Excel spreadsheet based applications requiring heavy VBA coding
- Proficient in Java, C++, C, C#, Visual Basic, HTML, CSS, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, JavaScript (ES5 and 6), jQuery, JSON, AJAX and XML manipulation.
- Strong experience engineering, designing, building and implementing IoT devices with bespoke web interfaces
- Excellent Technical Documentation skills
- Strong experience in TDD
- Strong experience with Chrome DevTools
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand root cause of issues.
- Strong git experience
- Excellent levels of spoken and written English.
- Inquisitive with a willingness to get stuck in and learn both existing and new technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Extensive experience across front and back end development
- Demonstrable Mobile Web and Native application development experience including strong NodeJS/ HTML5/ CSS3/ RDBMS/ NoSQL
- All staff to comply with CarmichaelUK Quality Management System (ISO9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO14001) at all times
Desirable Skills:
- Agile, full stack development experience covering primarily either ReactJS/MEAN frameworks for UI and/or NodeJS framework for microservices development.
- We operate in the construction industry so a strong understanding of the construction, eg An experienced construction professional, will be highly regarded.
