We have the pleasure to recruit a general foreman based in Amersham working as part of the HS2 project.

The General Foreman will take responsibility for ensuring subcontracted shaft early works on site comply with the overall programme and budget.

 

Responsibilities 

General Foreman will be responsible for: 

  • Leading an onsite team;
  • Promoting Health and Safety, Environment to the wider team, ensuring quality, timely and safe work practices;
  • Fulfilling Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans;
  • Tracking and monitoring KPI compliance and recommending improvements to systems to maintain team production;
  • Ensuring that all plant, transport, and materials used on the site are of sufficient quality and quantity to complete the task in question;
  • Taking responsibility for the management of the subcontractors appointed to the contract.
  • Ensuring all works undertaken comply with set budget.
  • Ensure the site is kept to a high standard and meets management expectations.
  • Carrying out any disciplinary measures necessary to site operatives, site foreman or subcontractors in accordance with policy. 

Skills & Experience 

  • The post holder will be educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically an Engineering discipline. A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND may be acceptable where a very significant level of experience in a technical engineering role can be demonstrated.
  • Membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically Chartered member of Institute of Civil Engineering or an international equivalent professional status.
  • Demonstrable previous relevant experience within construction engineering, including Earthworks, Ground stabilisation, deep drainage and specially in deep foundations (secant piled or diaphragm walls)
  • Experience of managing or assisting with the management of programmes of work, ensuring the project runs to schedule
  • Experience in managing or assisting with the management on site, monitoring, dealing with subcontractors and finding solutions to problems that may cause delays or extra costs.
  • Experience leading or assisting with the leadership of site teams and mentoring them to help built a solid project team.
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of quality management
