My client is a major geotechnical contractor in the UK. They are looking for an estimator to join their team. They have a strong pipeline of projects in 2019 and looking for an estimator with an understanding or geotechnical techniques and processes. They are open to training an experienced geotechnical engineer who is looking make a shift into estimating.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Undertake estimates in accordance with Company procedures and governance rules

Key member of the MUS Team working across multiple Frameworks alongside Project and Commercial Managers

Identify opportunity and risk during tender process
-
Interpretation of project requirements and scope of work
-
Liaise with Framework and Project Manager to agree methodology and principles

Maintain register of key assumptions and clarifications within estimate
-
Maintain tender estimate and quotation file
-
Provide indicative pricing support for business development
-
Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs
-
Prepare estimating review pack and tender sign off records
-
Present basis of estimate and key assumptions
-
Coordinate tender review and acceptance meetings
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
-
Previous experience working as a geotechnical engineer
-
Extensive experience in geotechnical techniques and processes
-
Demonstrable Utility’s experience.
-
Experience working on long term, multi million pound framework agreements.

Good IT skills, particularly Excel, programming and other estimating software
-
Good communicator at all levels and flexibility to meet client demands
-
Willingness to travel in to attend meetings in London and Birmingham
