We're looking for GIS Technician for Major Project in Birmingham. Ideally, you will have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment and be able to respond to various requirements for geospatial products and services. Your work will form part of the organisations digital strategy and will be contributing directly to the successful delivery of the project.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide GIS support and relevant training to all areas of the business as required
  • Provide data management support and data development as required
  • Assist in the development and integration of data sets and web services
  • Conversion of data from other sources such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civils 3D etc.
  • Support Senior GIS Team Members as required
  • Delivery of GIS contractual requirements to the client to a high standard and on time
  • Perform quality control checks of incoming data from sub-contractor
  • Supporting the Environment Team in their mapping and analytical requirements
  • Undertake own continuous professional development.
Required Attributes:
  • Proven knowledge in ESRI ArcGIS 10x including extensions
  • Delivering high quality cartographic outputs
  • Experience of AutoCAD and GIS
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Good attention to detail
  • ESRI ArcGIS Online / Portal for ArcGIS
  • Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Working knowledge of UK GIS datasets
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Metadata standards and their application
