My client, a main Joint Venture on HS2, is seeking a GIS Technician to join on a freelance basis for at least 12 months. This role is based in Birmingham and a great chance to work on one of the most prestigious projects in the Europe.
Description of Activities to be undertaken
- To support the JV’s Information Technology and Digital Integration team in delivering its service to the JV’s package
- Undertake data management, update and conversion tasks within out ArcGIS for Server infrastructure.
- Ensure that GIS deliverables by the JV and its subcontractors and prepared and submitted in accordance with strict HS2 Technical Standards
- Working closely with the different GIS end users, engineers and project teams to identify problems and provide input.
- Looking for innovative ways to deploy GIS and improve efficient working wherever could be beneficial.
- Identifying and implementing the most appropriate and efficient geospatial workflows, processes and assurance.
Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role
- ArcView experience
- Understanding and experience of historic environment data, record databases, geophysical survey data, Lidar data and point clouds, and photogammetry (SFM) data and 3D modelling.
