A major JV project is looking for a H&S Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis 

It is responsible for delivering the £multi-million Chilterns Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct contract as part of a section of the new High Speed Rail link between London and Birmingham.

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and safety practitioner or administrator to work with the Health & Safety team initially near Euston station in London for 6-8 months with the potential for a move to the works office which will be located close to junction 17 on the M25.  

H&S Administrator:

Working across the whole of the JV contract, you will:

  • Work with the Health & Safety team to create the structure of the health and safety management system
  • Collate plans, policies, procedures etc provided by the H&S team and JV partners.
  • Make the H&S Management System documents available to the project whilst adhering to document control and quality management procedures.
  • Collate Key Performance Indicator data, such as hours worked, numbers of incidents, numbers inducted
  • Present data from analysis of such H&S records in chart form
  • Format and produce safety information from many sources such as HSE, HS2, other construction industry sources
  • Liaise with communications team to promote safety and health campaigns
  • Manage invitations to H&S training and records of attendance
  • In conjunction with Occupational Health Lead, organise pre-commencement Drug & Alcohol testing of employees at time of induction
  • Manage records and appropriately communicate results of pre-commencement health questionnaires and safety critical medicals
  • Manage the H&S team record keeping eg lessons learnt, alerts, H&S campaign information, attendance at mini-health checks
  • Assist in managing H&S events such as CECA, Health & Safety Week
  • Manage stock of health & safety consumables, first aid kits, PPE and other equipment eg defibrillators
  • Make travel arrangements

Experience required:

  • Significant experience in administration
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, with ability in Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of health and safety or construction

Ideal:

  • Knowledge and experience of both H&S and construction
  • Qualified in health and safety
  • Qualified in civil engineering/construction
