A short term assignment exist for an experienced H&S professional to represent our client supporting the development and delivery of H&S services into an established, growing , client focused consultancy framework 

 

Role Objectives

  • Support the Lead Consultant in the development and delivery of an established H&S Assurance consulting framework.

  • Key objective of the role – Deliver various projects agreed with client to provide an efficient and innovative H&S Assurance service to Yorkshire Water AMP7 Enterprise

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Understand our consultancy projects, our key client and our case studies.

  • Understand our partners and supply chain, what they contribute to our offering, how we are the intelligent customer and how we may take the service in house (where appropriate).

  • Own and deliver H&S Assurance projects on time, within budget and clearly presented

  • Engages easily and clearly efficiently with clients, partners and supply chain to facilitate effective information exchange

  • Presents ideas effectively one-to-one or in small groups adapting style to audience

  • Produces clear client correspondence and reports, selecting most appropriate style to achieve desired outcome.

  • Interact with the various sectors and develop a cross sector view.

  • Quality, proactive contribution to proposals/bids. Responsible for assisting with discipline technical input to proposals and projects.

 

Project delivery

  • Involvement in project delivery in the consulting field.

  • Ensure consultancy work is delivered in line with the customers’ expectations and the framework agreement.

  • Understands commission, commercial requirements, strategy and mitigates risks.

  • Reviews and advises on project plans. Assurance and technical quality Interact with technical assurance to ensure our governance and deliverables are correct.

  • Prepare, check and/or approve deliverables on contracts, where necessary to ensure that lessons learned for the discipline are effectively captured, disseminated and assimilated.

  • Apply a philosophy of continuous improvement.

 

Progress meetings and reporting

  • Formal, recorded monthly progress meetings. Work with the Lead Consultant to develop the capability and drive progress.

  • Advises on delivery designs and implementation.

 

Other responsibilities

  • Ensure all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation and company/client standards and procedures are complied with.

  • To cascade information to individuals on organisational performance, policy and procedures and to report back to senior management subordinate comments and recommendations for improvements in performance and removal of constraints that constrain performance.

  • Leverages effective, established networks to create added value for clients.

  • Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policies and Processes, strategy and statutory requirements as they affect the company’s operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented on the project/contract/framework.

  • Assist in maintaining and seeking continuous improvement in the Discipline, Sector and Group SHE strategies and processes including the SHE management system in relation to current industry best practice and minimum statutory requirements.

  • Actively promote the company ‘BE SAFE’, ‘BE HEALTHY’ and ‘BE GREEN’ messages in addition to the implementation of best practice principles across the business and to include stakeholders such as the supply chain.

  • Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.

  • Set standards and lead by example in the management of SHE

  • Liaise with the other members of the SHE Team and the wider organisation with regards to SHE
