We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support offshore operations on a major marine construction project involving a jack-up barge and complex lifting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with strong offshore experience to join a dynamic team delivering critical marine and civils scopes.
The Role
- Act as the on-board Health & Safety lead, ensuring all offshore operations are conducted safely and in line with statutory and project requirements.
- Oversee lifting operations, supporting Lift Supervisors, Rigging Teams, and Barge Masters.
- Conduct daily HSE inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Monitor compliance with RAMS, work permits, and lifting plans.
- Report on incidents, near misses, and non-conformances; drive corrective actions.
- Support offshore management teams to plan safe execution of works on a jack-up barge.
- Maintain accurate and timely HSE documentation and reporting for the project.
About You
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor / HSE Advisor in offshore environments.
- Direct experience working on jack-up barges, marine vessels, or offshore construction assets.
- Strong knowledge of lifting operations, LOLER compliance, rigging interfaces, and lifting plans.
- Offshore survival certification essential (e.g., BOSIET, FOET, GWO, OPITO).
- NEBOSH qualification and valid CSCS card.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence safe behaviour on site.
- Comfortable working offshore for extended rotations.
