Our client a major tier one civil engineering contractor needs an experienced Quality Manager to lead their quality department on the High Speed Two project.
 
The Head of Quality leads and develops the Quality Management System, striving for best in class quality arrangements to deliver to normative and contractual requirements, and support operational excellence. Provide clear leadership and vision and motivate the team to achieve excellence. Monitor and report on the performance of the Quality Management System and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Responsibilities:
Develop the Quality Strategy and Quality Framework for the HS2 Euston Station Project.
Drive a behavioural approach to ‘Right First Time, Every Time’ quality culture.
Develop and implement new quality processes where appropriate
Ensure the quality arrangements defined in the Contract Quality Plan are understood
Ensure the quality arrangements defined for the Subcontractors are understood and risk-based controls are developed and implemented on Subcontracted works.
Develop the appropriate quality organisational structure, to support the effective implementation, control and improvement of the QMS.
Provide leadership, coordination and coaching of the Quality Team, ensuring they are trained and able to achieve the objectives within their areas of responsibility.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality arrangements.
Ensure the assurance and certification strategies for all packages of work are defined in collaboration with asset owners / stakeholders.
Drive the progressive assurance approach to ensure on time handover of completed works
Evaluate the performance and effectives of the QMS through data analysis and propose process change for QMS efficiency and improvement.
Brief the Senior Leadership Team on the status of the QMS.
Maintain relationships with the Client’s Quality Representatives and any 3rd party regarding quality matters.
Produce Monthly Quality Performance metric-based reports, which monitors the following performance indicators, some of which are linked to our Quality Objectives.
Report directly to the Managing Director and functionally to the Quality and Environmental Director
To advise and support the Project the Project Managers on aspect related to the Quality Management System, particularly in preparation and application of the Quality Plan for UK projects.
To Control the operation of the Quality Management System on the UK projects and in the branches.
To conduct the internal quality audits commissioned by the Quality and Environmental Director.
To cooperate with external auditors and support them in system evaluation.
To submit the reports established to the Quality and Environmental Directorate regularly (Project List, Project NCR and corrective action list, Lessons learnt, Objectives follow up, …)
To propose actions to the Managing Director to prevent the occurrence of Nonconformities in the projects and branch Office.
To recommend and provide solutions to improve the System.
To give the training about quality.
To maintain the Branch Office quality file.
To manage the client satisfaction questionnaires.
To collect quality data for the annual Corporate Responsibility report
Identification of European, national, regional and other quality requirements.
 
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience required:
 
ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification.
IRCA Registered Auditor.
Chartered Quality Professional – Member of the Chartered Quality Institute.
Degree educated.
Appropriate qualification in Quality Management.
Proven experience in Quality Management Systems.
Experience working in large infrastructure projects.
Previous experience in a similar role with aligned responsibilities & accountabilities.
Proficient in MS Office.
Fluent English – written & verbal
