Our client is a top tier contractor and they are looking for a H&S Advisor / Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.
This role will cover projects across London. There are two sites as follows:
Tottenham Hale Station Upgrade & Crossrail West Stations Package 3 (Southall, West Drayton and Hayes & Harlington stations).
This is a standalone H&S Advisors position and he/she will report to their Head of HSE.
 
Suitable candidates will need to have a minimum of 5 years HSE experience, require a rail infrastructure background, Sentinel, NEBOSH Diploma and a minimum Grad IOSH.  Some environmental experience would be beneficial.
 
They anticipate a salary of up to £55k + car or car/travel allowance.
 
Role responsibilities:
Assist the Project team with development of plans and process to support delivery of work.
Assist in the development of site inductions for defined work sites.
Assist in development and maintenance of the H&S systems.
Suggest methods and aids to promote awareness of injury prevention initiatives.
Carry out inspections and audits in conjunction with appropriate management to ensure Company, Client and legislative requirements are being met.
Where appropriate make recommendations for improvement.
Assist with the implementation of the contractors behavioural based safety programme.
Assist the Project teams with investigation of close call, near miss and other incidents on Project sites.
Assist the Project teams by identifying training needs.
Assist the Project teams in collating information for monthly reporting to the Client and to their head office.

Avoid conflicts of interest wherever possible and if one arises promptly take appropriate steps to manage it.
Ensure you are competent to undertake proposed work. Competence is a combination of knowledge, skills, experience and recognition of the limits of your capabilities. Knowledge can be gained or developed by studying for qualifications, but a qualification, by itself, is not evidence of competence. It must be enhanced by skills and knowledge that you develop through experience.
Undertake appropriate continuing professional development and record it in the manner prescribed by IOSH.
