Health and Safety Advisor / Manager – Construction & Heavy Civils
Location: Central London (Multiple Project Sites)
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience & level)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
 

CarmichaelUK is working in partnership with a number of leading contractors to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Advisor or Manager for permanent positions on major construction and heavy civils projects across Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven H&S professional to join long-term, career-defining projects in a dynamic and safety-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert Health and Safety support across a portfolio of active construction and heavy civils sites

  • Conduct regular audits, site inspections, and risk assessments in line with CDM 2015 and company standards

  • Develop, review, and monitor site-specific RAMS and other safety documentation

  • Provide training and support for site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors

  • Lead incident investigations and recommend practical corrective actions

  • Support the continuous improvement of the Health and Safety Management System

  • Liaise with project teams, client representatives, and statutory bodies when required


Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)

  • TechIOSH or GradIOSH status (or working towards)

  • Proven experience in a similar role within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure

  • Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM regulations

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently across multiple project sites

  • Comfortable liaising with both operational staff and senior management
