The low down:

Regional Health & Safety Advisor role at a Major Construction contractor, to cover London and East Anglia Area. Excellent day rate plus mileage.  This is a freelance position with the potential to join them on a permanent contract as Senior Health and Safety Advisor.

Your new company: 
Working for one of the largest Construction Principal Contractors in the UK who are involved in rail, civils, build, highways and airports. In order to expand their HSE department, they are currently recruiting for a Regional H&S Advisor to cover the South East.

Your new role: 
Reporting directly to the SHE Manager of the region, you will be responsible for HSE on a number of sites. Ensure SHE procedures are implemented to allow all relevant legislation to be complied with; Provide support and advice on SHE issues to operational and support teams Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are correctly reported and support is provided to investigations in accordance with SHE policies and procedures Ensure that all SHE reporting requirements are provided accurately and in a timely manner. 

Conduct site/project/contract visits and produce action plans for operations management to address; Work closely with and support the operational teams in carrying out their roles and responsibilities for SHE and implementing the Integrated Management System; Provide support to mobilisation team for all 'SHE' items identified trackers. Attend mobilisation conference calls as required and maintain SHE element of mobilisation tracker; Advise and assist teams in drawing up risk assessments and safe systems of work; Carry out and record SHE audits and inspections. 

Assist the line management in the compiling of accident reports and identifying recommendations to prevent a reoccurrence; Update senior management on significant SHE issues immediately following any incidents (actual or potential) or enforcing authority involvement; Deliver SHE training courses and briefings where the need arises.

What you'll need to succeed: 
You will have experience in General Construction, ideally on a multi-site role. You will have NEBOSH General or Construction certificate, minimum of Tech IOSH membership and excellent communication skills. Experience on rail, civil and build projects is advantageous.
