Our client is a civil engineering & marine company that was founded 30 years ago.
They have recently been awarded a project off of mainland Scotland.
They require a HSE Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.
Subsistence and fortnightly flights home will be included with the package.
The scope of infrastructure improvements required at Lochmaddy are:
- Dredging of the seabed and disposal of dredge arisings
- Extension of the existing marshalling area using land-won and imported material including paving, lighting, road-markings and other ancillary works
- Extension of existing car-parking area, including earthworks and paving
- Repair and strengthening works to existing pier, including steelwork and reinforced concrete
- Construction of a concrete caisson off site, transportation of the caisson to site and placement to form an extension to the existing pier, including infill, insitu reinforced concrete works and associated fixtures and fittings
- Design and provision of new pier fendering system, supported by piling, steelwork and reinforced concrete
- Design and provision of cathodic protection system to steelwork and provision of cathodic protection to concrete structures
- Provision of upgraded electrical and water services to support ferry operations including new substation and water break tank
The construction works are currently scheduled to start in January 2020 with completion by January 2021
