CarmichaelUK are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Monitoring (I&M) Manager for work on a major infrastructure package in Central SE London

KEY DUTIES:

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations;
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks;
  • Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities.
  • Manage all aspects of I&M, including closely managing the I&M subcontractor and all related approvals with 3rd parties in line with the Third-Party Agreements.
  • Supervise instrument installation, monitoring, calibration checks, calibration registers and maintenance in accordance with the accepted Contractors specification and to ensure no delay to construction activities.
  • Provide guidance and supervision for subcontractors and suppliers in instrumentation and monitoring matters. In association with the commercial team, manage the I&M sub-contract.
  • To provide expertise regarding the design of I&M.
  • To provide expertise regarding the follow up and monitoring systems of similar projects.
  • To be the first point of contact between the designers and the site team.
  • To maintain the site specific I&M Register with new, ongoing, completed and accepted by the client.
  • To ensure that all I&M are adequately and safely designed, constructed and used, ensuring that those people responsible for the construction of the TW receive full detail of the design.
  • To assist the project team in their production of ‘as-built’ documentation and the Health & Safety File.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Joint Venture policies and processes.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualified in civil/structural engineering or similar discipline
  • At least five years’ experience of construction of comparable schemes with a minimum period of three years design experience.
  • A minimum period of three years’ experience in team management
