My client, a main Joint Venture on HS2, is currently seeking an IT Manager to join their team on a freelance basis. This role is based in Birmingham and is for 9 months.
Description of Activities to be undertaken
- To work as part of a team to provide technical support across all sites to ensure that all resources and Project equipment is continuously maintained and available for use. This post will provide technical support for ICT / ILT equipment in all areas of the Project, including any equipment to support delivery and support of the business processes.
- Provide technical support to Fusion users (including both network and non- network users), covering both hardware and software systems, in accordance with agreed service standards.
- Work with Managed Service Providers to ensure ongoing Service improvement.
- Install IT equipment and software to meet Project and User needs.
- Identify persistent and potential problems and suggest and implement solutions.
- Assist with the inventory audits of equipment and software.
- Assist in the development and technical support of the technology infrastructure for both voice and data.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Parent company Technical Support teams to develop and deliver long-term solutions to meet user needs.
- Assist users to provide IT/Technical solutions to improve efficiency for team members.
- Assist Information Security & Cyber Security manager to provide reports to the client and manage associated information
- Undertake such additional duties or projects as the Project Director or line manager may determine from time to time, after consultation with the post holder.
Skills Needed for the Role
- Office 365 with good excel skills. Good communication skills (written &Verbal)
- Hardware and Software deployment experience
- Experienced level 1&2 Support Technician
- IT Change management experience
- Supplier Management experience
- System Configuration and Administration experience
