Carmichael UK are looking for a Landscape Clerk of Works to join a tier 1 contractor on the HS2 line in Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire.
The Landscape Clerk of Works will be responsible for assisting with assurance of the successful delivery of various landscape packages across the section of works.
Scope of Works
- To ensure that consistently high standards of quality control and supervision on landscape related works are carried out in compliance with contract specifications and maintained across the entire execution stage of the project.
- To check and consider site conditions with the contractor in advance of works, to identify any on-site problems and to recommend corrective action.
- To check and understand requirements of approved HS2 works information for delivery of landscape and habitat creation. This would include checks on associated fencing, placement and cultivation of soils, as well as seeding/planting plans.
- To check contractor works information to ensure methodology and materials match HS2 works information requirements. Specific checks include documents such as Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Material Acceptance Forms (MAFs).
- To assist in the commissioning and appointment of contractors and specialist consultants in accordance with the Contract.
- To assist in issue of planting orders/call offs, allowing sufficient lead in time in programme.
- To assist in issue of seeding orders/call offs, allowing sufficient lead in time in programme.
- To attend various meetings which include but not limited to site meetings, technical meetings, sub-contractor meetings and coordinating all site issues and highlight construction status to superior.
- Work closely with the Ecology team to deliver habitat management sites.
- To liaise with the project team members, including contractors, sub-contractors and authorities on all site matters and interfacing works.
- Input in the preparation of Invitation to Tenders for the key Landscaping and Earthwork packages.
- Ensure that records are maintained through DALUX and any changes/deviations from Specification are recorded and approved.
Skills & Experience
- Preferably have a Landscape qualification
- At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in a related field
- Required Skill(s): [MS Office, MS Project]
- Preferably have experience of managing sub-contractors
- Understanding of construction methodologies, operations, and processes
- Good knowledge of seeding, planting and fencing materials/methods
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good understanding of Health and Safety and Hazard identification
- Early identification of INNS on the project and management of the remedial measures going forwards.

- Scheme Environmental/Landscape presentation will be provided to understand restoration works.
