Carmichael UK are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to work for a Tier 1 Client on a Major Water Framework in Manchester. You will need to hold a Degree (or qualification) in Electrical Engineering to be considered, with electrical bias background.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assuming overall responsibility for delivery of the electrical scope. Including but not limited to Schedule and MDR creation, change control, project reporting, leading meetings, delegating work packages to the electrical team
  • Supporting project estimates including CTR’s
  • Electrical discipline technical input for projects; preparation, checking and approval of engineering documentation. Including but not limited to Basis of Design, Power System Calculations, Earthing and Lightning Calculations, Equipment sizing calculations, Load Schedules, Equipment Specification and Datasheets, SLDs, Cable Schedules, Material Take Offs, BCDs, Schematics, Equipment and Cable Routing Layouts
  • Preparing equipment and materials requisitions for HV and LV switchboards, transformers, motors, UPS systems, power factor correction, trace-heating, lighting and other electrical equipment
  • Reviewing supplier’s quotations and preparing technical bid assessments
  • Preparing installation scopes of work
  • Ensuring all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation and company/client standards and procedures are complied with
More specific tasks could include:
  • HV Power System Modelling
  • HV Protection Studies
  • Liaising with the DNO and other stakeholders
  • Electrical equipment ageing and Obsolescence Management
  • Supporting site teams with operational issues
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Apprenticeships may be considered / Chartered or Incorporated engineer status with a relevant professional body or evidence of working towards gaining these professional titles
  • CSCS Card essential
  • SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
