A main JV on HS2 are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator to start as soon as possible in the Buckinghamshire area.

Description of Activities to be undertaken

Key Responsibilities:

·         Liaise with Site Teams to plan vehicle moves to or from; work sites/areas, Vehicle Holding Area(s) or Consolidation Centre(s)

·         Share in management of the Vehicle Management Planning System (VPMS)

·         Organise and maintain suppliers’ compliance and oversee booking request system(s) or portal(s)

·         Plan and organise deliveries via the manual or electronic VMPS

·         Monitor real time vehicle movements (deliveries/collections) through the VMPS

·         Run Vehicle Holding Area(s) including vehicle & driver compliance checks through VMPS

·         Ensure suppliers comply with; company, vehicle & driver compliance requirements, the vehicle booking procedure and environmental & safety compliance checks

·         Liaise with Suppliers, Gate Staff and Vehicle Marshals to ensure that vehicles arrive and depart work sites/areas, safely, on route, on time and compliant.

·         Using forecasts supplied by the Delivery or Construction Teams, create daily, weekly and monthly Logistics plans

·         Assist the Logistics Manager by attending work sites/areas, Vehicle Holding Area(s) or Consolidation Centre(s) etc to monitor road (and rail) transport movements

·         Attend regular or other Logistics Meetings, including with the client and execute actions from the meeting that are road (and rail) transport related. Also disseminate any non-Logistics actions or information.

·         Investigate, plan, arrange and monitor; load consolidation and packaging reduction

·         Liaise with Environmental Team for vehicle compliance requirements and reporting

·         Use the VMPS to:

o    create reports including completed or forecast vehicle movements

o    investigate discrepancies between planned and actual vehicle movements

o    create non-compliance reports and execute follow up actions, incl interface with suppliers to ensure improved performance

·         Investigate Logistics related matters or incidents, generate reports and ensure actions or responsibilities are closed and reported into the JV (HS2) reporting system(s)

·         Prepare reports for work sites/areas/locations, supply depots, consolidation centre, Vehicle Holding Area(s) etc

·         Maintain document status and progress database

·         Create Logistics related plans and task briefings

·         Plan and deliver Gate Staff and Vehicle Marshal compliance inspection training

·         Liaise with suppliers, hauliers, sub-contractors etc and conduct compliance inspections at their depots

·         Manage the VMPS (as administrator) and supervise JV staff and internal & external portal users of the VMPS

·         Liaise with the VMPS provider for system maintenance and improvement

·         Production of documentation including Construction Logistics Plans

·         Ensure suppliers, hauliers, sub-contractors compliance information is up to date, via VMPS

Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role
Qualifications and Experience:

·         High degree of computer literacy (essential)

·         Construction experience (desirable)

·         Database management (desirable)

·         Logistics Degree (desirable)

·         SSSTS or SMSTS or recognised Site Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable)

·         CSCS Card (desirable)

·         First Aid (three day)(desirable)
