Carmichael are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Package Manage to join our client's growing team
Reporting directly to the MEICA Manager and accountable to Project Manager, the fundamental requirement of this role is to have a track record of successfully managing the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
Responsibilties will include -

To liaise with design and delivery partners to ensure that the best Mechanical solutions are selected and implemented.

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Demonstrating safety excellence by ensuring design considers the future maintenance of operation of the plant and eliminating potential harm during installation.

Understanding and knowledge of NEC4 and the application of EWN, CEN, RFI, Contractor Communications and working closely with the Project Commercial Manager and QS team

Responsible for the production of mechanical programme, resources and costs.

Production of tender documents for mechanical elements.

Providing reports and other briefings to site operational teams on the mechanical aspects of projects.

Liaison with the STW management team within both Capital Delivery and Service Delivery

Active participation in both the Project Team’s and the Client’s COMM Cells

Technical historical successful experience of wastewater treatment projects is essential/highly desirable.

Knowledge and experience of the mechanical engineering commensurate with the project scope

Knowledge and experience of Severn Trent Water M&E standards and WIMES Management of mechanical work scope through the Solution Pricing Stage Production of mechanical tender documents, ensuring appropriate battery limits/design envelopes are set and that there are definitions of project success and/or completion.

Complete commercial and technical bid analysis of mechanical tender returns

Critical progress milestones are to be identified and included in all orders or subcontracts.

Production and management of the Expediting Plan to ensure timely delivery of mechanical elements of projects to the required standard and quality.

Review mechanical schematics, diagrams, FDS documents, P&I documents and instigate design change as and when necessary.

Manage Mechanical Programme and provide monthly updates to project planners.

Ensure the technical solution delivery is consistent across the project life cycle from early involvement to completion.

Ability to read and analyse project programmes [Primavera P6] and other key schedule documentation
Requirements for this position -
- HND / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum
- Experience working with a main contractor on Water Process Engineering projects
- Must have experience with main contractor working on Water and Wastewater projects
- Member or working towards chartered status of a relevant professional body
