Carmichael UK are seeking experienced MEICA Project Engineers to join our team, supporting the delivery of major water, wastewater, and bioresources projects across the North West.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a long-term 5 (+5)-year framework, delivering complex on-site asset maintenance and capital works. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of MEICA projects, working closely with supply chain partners, and internal teams.
Main Function of the Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation (MEICA) projects – from concept through to site completion. This includes managing design, procurement, engineering, construction, health & safety, and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of MEICA projects within Water, Wastewater and Bioresources workstreams.

Ensure projects are delivered in line with governance, reporting, and SHE standards.

Provide engineering input during early project phases, including concept design, solution pricing, and risk assessments.

Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

Produce and review engineering specifications, designs, and scope of works.

Oversee factory acceptance testing, site surveys, and technical reviews.

Drive best practice in health, safety, environmental management, and quality assurance.

Support construction management activities, including RAMS reviews, toolbox talks, and operational site planning.
Requirements

HNC / HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

Experience working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

CSCS Card & Water Hygiene Card.

Strong technical understanding of MEICA engineering within water treatment.

Knowledge of CDM Regulations (as Designer and Principal Contractor).

Proven track record of project delivery within complex frameworks.

Excellent people, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
