Carmichael are recruiting for MEP Quality Engineer join a tier one contractor on a large-scale project in Birmingham.
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will undertake respective duties as part of the construction team supporting completion of remaining works.
Your prior experience of healthcare/hospital or MOD projects is highly sought after.
Duties will include -
- To verify/snag any non-compliances of “ceiling and voids“ via BiM Field, of the MEP works undertaken by the client or Subcontractors
- Attend daily 08.30 Short interval Control, Power on meetings to ensure and coordinate inspection of the works in line with build trades and ongoing progress
- To undertake MEP system walks per area. Advise on the specialist systems compliance with drawings and Spec i.e. Fire Alarm, Nurse call system, Pneumatic tube, security etc.
- To verify that any remedial works correct initial noncompliance, sign off the same with respective sub-contractors
- Support the team to identify outstanding works which may impact our ability to commission the works.
- Support the MEP & Construction team in the delivery of documentation for commission stages 1 to 3 (pre-construction)
- Support the production team in ITP and system walks/ reviews for later commissioning of MEP packages.
Requirements for this position -
- Must be of an MEP background
- Previous healthcare experience is highly sought after
- To be IT Literate, conversant with BiM Field and 4P
- Engineering qualification is beneficial (BEng etc.)
- Member of CQI or other relevant memberships would be beneficial
