We are recruiting for an amazing opportunity for a committed and dedicated Monitoring Surveyor for one of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK. Hinckley Point C will be the first nuclear energy plant built in the UK for over 30 years and you could be part of the team which deliver this innovative energy project. Working on this project will not only gain you valuable skills and experience, but you will enhance your future career prospects by having worked on this project.
The works involved which you will be working on will include the major enabling and earthworks packages on the project. You will be joining a highly skilled survey monitoring team in which you will learn new skills and utilise your existing abilities. This is a contract role for 6 months.
 
The project is being managed by two top-tier contractors who are working in partnership so this is a prime opportunity for you to work with two established international companies who span multiple sectors including rail, power, water, building and natural resources. Not only are they working on this prestigious project but also have a number of projects throughout the UK which will also give you scope for progression.
 
Overall Job Scope
To assist the survey team with completing site-based engineering surveys and manual monitoring activities with respect to project briefings. Processing and checking surveys whilst rigorously adhering to and ensuring that the prevailing standards and rules of the working environment are followed.
 
Key Tasks
  • Attending site and team meetings to ensure there is a good understanding of the required works, timelines and standard of work.  Take responsibility for leading or delivering smaller projects or aspects of larger projects independently.
  • Carry out precise movement monitoring surveys.
  • Precise traversing for tertiary survey control.
  • Precise levelling for benchmark control. 
  • Survey and preparation of DTM’s and contour plans.
  • Preparation of survey plans and section drawings using AutoCAD.
  • As-built surveys.
  • Preparing MS Word-based template reports.
  • Ensure highest standards of health, safety, environment and quality are adhered to at all times.
  • Liaise with ITM personnel and clients as required on site to pro-actively report on project progress.
