We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a high-profile infrastructure programme at Heathrow Airport, working permanent night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven engineering professional with strong leadership skills and extensive experience delivering complex civil engineering projects in live operational environments.

The Role

As Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering activities across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead and mentor a team of Site and Junior Engineers while acting as the key engineering contact between site teams, management, and stakeholders.

Working in a live airport environment, you'll be responsible for coordinating night-shift operations, managing technical challenges, and ensuring programme milestones are achieved with minimal disruption to airport operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering activities during night shifts.
• Supervise and mentor Junior and Site Engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Heathrow Airport and project-specific standards.
• Review and approve RAMS, ITPs, permits, and engineering documentation.
• Manage setting out, quality assurance, and technical compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
• Resolve engineering issues and provide technical leadership on site.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Produce progress reports and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineer who can confidently lead teams and deliver complex infrastructure works in demanding environments.

Essential Requirements

• Significant experience as a Senior Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage and develop Junior Engineers.
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or major infrastructure organisation.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering construction methods.
• Experience in live operational environments such as:
  • Heathrow Airport
  • Other UK airports
  • RAF bases
  • MOD facilities
  • Rail or other critical infrastructure projects
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work permanent night shifts.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Heathrow Airport experience.
• Airside pass experience.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid qualifications.
• Experience with runway, taxiway, airside, utilities, drainage, or major infrastructure projects.
