The role:

Due to continued success, CarmichaelUK is looking to appoint an Operations Manager (internal delivery) to support our growth plans over the coming 5 years.

With unprecedented demand for talent within our market, it is critical our clients are supported with the highest levels of service, solutions, and transparency. Our systems and process have been built to support their needs and we are looking for an Operations Manager who is looking for a challenge beyond the normal day to day, with a specific interest in improving processes and achieving excellence.

The company:

As an owner-managed independent agency, we are able to do things differently, offering our staff and candidates the very best opportunities to progress their careers. We have won and are regularly nominated for industry recognised (Recruiter & REC) awards, including “Best Construction & Civil Engineering Agency”, “Best Engineering Recruitment Agency” and “Best Company to work for”. Our MD has been nominated for “The UK Recruitment Agency Leader of the Year”.

CarmichaelUK enjoys a mature and loyal client and candidate base built over 25 years and is on the PSL for most of the major civil engineering companies in the UK. We operate nationally within the UK from three offices and all of our staff are experts within their roles. Across the company there is a strong culture of teamwork and ‘nothing at CarmichaelUK is somebody else’s problem’.

Whilst we are a data-driven business focussed on achieving results through technology, we recognise the importance of treating all our staff and candidates as individuals. Our staff and candidates make significant contributions to our business, and we always make sure to ‘place people first’ on every level.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring internal process excellence across candidate attraction and experience, and internal staff attraction, inductions, and process integration. It will involve the management of junior team members to fully embed them into the Carmichael UK Way. The role will spread across our internal reporting systems, CRM ownership and the dual challenge of ensuring process excellence whilst developing the newer team members into these processes.

This unique role will have breadth across our business streams of white and blue-collar and permanent recruitment. As a unique opportunity that rarely exists it is likely to suit experienced recruiters/managers who have been exposed to processes and have a natural inclination to improve things. Our systems are bespoke, and you will have the autonomy to develop new processes whilst embedding those already in place.

About You:

  • Demonstrable experience in management and team leadership
  • Recruitment industry experience
  • An eye for improving processes
  • High level of IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with an ability to work on internal systems
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • A team player who enjoys helping others
  • Self-starter who is very organised
