An established Piling contractor are seeking a Planner to join their team on a permanent basis.
My client is working as part of a JV on a Multi Million pound package of works, delivering extensive infrastructure works for one of the Main contractors for HS2. The scope of work is route wide between South Birmingham and London.
The Successful Candidate will have a base to work from out of either Birmingham or Bicester
Please note that this position is temporarily on hold but may go live any time between now and the new year.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Ensuring the standards and requirements for HS2 are met to provide a safe, efficient and cost-effective programme meeting and the required access dates, milestones and key dates are hit within the given time frame.
* Reporting to the Project Director
* Project planning, schedule development and maintenance.
* Progress / performance evaluation and reporting.
* Turn-around planning and scheduling and implementation / monitoring.
* Project budget set-up and cost control.
* Tender preparation / adjudication
* Baseline management, resource loading and analysis, progress update and cash flow integration based on earned value methods.
* Establish and agree the level and frequency of reporting required by the project.
* Establish and communicate cost and schedule baselines and ensure control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance.
* Review overall project status with the Project Management team and recommend corrective action where necessary.
* Ensure that all cost, planning and document control reports are prepared and issued in accordance with Project Coordination Procedures.
* Liaise with all other Departments at all meetings relevant to project operations and ensure time and cost plans are updated to reflect the latest information.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
* Degree in civil engineering or an appropriate qualification
* Prior experience in planning function in civil engineering projects
* Knowledge of the development and implementation of, Planning Standards and Planning processes
* Strong experience with P6
* Good communication skills
